Chakra Nutrition 

If you missed our Reignite and Heal Your Chakras workshop here is a tad bit of what you missed. Our amazing Kaianna Sukhjot Kaur wrote up some Chakra nutrition tips that I am humbly sharing with you, and I hope you will join us for the next workshop!

 

ROOT CHAKRA:

Assist your root chakra by eating with others in community. If you want to release fear around eating or feelings of distrust, the root chakra is the place to be. Foods for grounding and protection: protein, minerals, root vegetables, edible and medicinal mushrooms, red-colored foods. Keyword: SURVIVAL. Color: Red.

 

SACRAL CHAKRA:

The Sacral Chakra opens us up to flow and movement. Difficulty expressing emotions, creativity, or having fun are all indicators that you are (not going with the flow). One can be prone to overeating emotionally. Allow your sacral chakra to be free by spending time creating meals and paying attention to your senses when eating. Foods for flow and feelings: Fats and oils, fish, tropical fruits, seeds, nuts, orange-colored foods. Keyword: EMOTION. Color: Orange.

 

SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA:

The Sola Plexus Chakra gives us the spark we need to get things done. Problems here can arise when we go into overdrive and lose our power. Foods for power and transformation: complex carbohydrates, fiber, wholegrains, legumes, yellow-colored foods. Keyword: POWER. Color: Yellow.

 

HEART CHAKRA:

The Heat Chakra gives one the ability to give and receive love. Through the process of sharing foods with others you can practice giving and receiving love in a healthy way. The heart Chakra opens when we give to food banks, infuse love and gratitude in our food, and share with those we love. Food for love and compassion: vegetables, sprouts, raw foods, foods rich in chlorophyll, any green foods. Keywords: LOVE. Color: Green.

 

THROAT CHAKRA:

The Throat Chakra illuminates over Truth, authenticity and choices. It is also the portal for high activity (swallowing, chewing, talking and breathing). When we do not speak our truth we cause an imbalance in the Throat Chakra. Honor your bodies choices, eating mindfully, chewing carefully, and communicating focus. Foods for communication and truth: sea plants, soups, sauces, juices and fruits. Keyword: TRUTH. Color: Aquamarine.

 

THIRD EYE CHAKRA:

The Third Eye Chakra includes intuition, insight, imagination and inspiration. When we listen to our intuition we nourish this center. Several foods that stimulate the intuitive center such as coffee, alcohol and dark chocolate keep your mind and moods on overdrive. Respect your Third Eye Chakra by avoiding these external substances and enable your intuition to be heard. Foods for intuition: Herbal tea, black berries, blueberries. Keyword: INSIGHT. Color: Indigo.

 

 

CROWN CHAKRA:

the Crown Chakra is the part of us in which connects us to all of life. By using food as a symbol of connection, you can connect to that which is sacred and deep. Foods for unification and interconnection: sun and moon light, clean air, unconditional love. Fasting is strengthening to the crown chakra as is exercise. Keyword: UNITY. Color: Lavender.
